Eerie tones and textures control the production, featuring a heavy, thumping beat that sneaks up and steals the show. The shifting groove moves in unexpected ways, with a laid back yet relentless way about it.

Martin Garrix Drops Two Unreleased Songs At His First Festival Back

As festivals return, so too do the artists who make them the experiences that are forever embedded in our memories. Alison Wonderland played her first festival back in the US this past weekend at Beyond Wonderland SoCal, for instance, and Martin Garrix headlined Austria’s Electric Love Boutique Edition festival over the weekend, as well.

The young Dutch artist who’s been voted #1 DJ in the world multiple years running of course came prepared with some new music to show off, starting off his set with an unreleased John Martin collaboration, according to @GarrixInterview on Twitter.

Later on in the night, Garrix dropped another unreleased tune, this time one with Julian Jordan and Tinie Tempah, which the latter has all but confirmed with a sly reply on the social media platform.

This sort of grand entrance back to festival life from artists was exactly what was expected after such a long break from touring and events, so to see it truly come to fruition is hugely gratifying and very, very exciting. We can’t way to see what other artists bring to the table as they return to events, not to mention releases for these Martin Garrix songs, whenever that may be!

SWG3 Nightclub Testing Out New Technology to Power Venue Through Body Heat

Arts, venue and events company SWG3 is heating up — literally — to power its nightclub.

The Scottish warehouse complex is testing out a system that will use body heat to power the venue’s electricity, including full production of lights and music. The effort comes as part of the UN’s Climate Change Conference (COP26), to be held in Glasgow this Fall.

Using BODYHEAT technology, SWG3 will implement the “renewable heating and cooling system.” As dancers and workers emit body heat throughout the night, “channelling their combined energy into twelve 150m-deep boreholes drilled beneath the venue.”

Considering body heat radiates roughly 100 watts of energy per human, even before dancing — the team at SWG3 says that should be enough to generate power for the venue and pump cool air back into the space. They also estimate saving 70 tonnes of CO2 per year if the trial is a success.

Managing Director of SWG3 Andrew Fleming Brown shares: “BODYHEAT is our innovative contribution to a global issue, and will help us to dramatically decrease our energy consumption — bringing us one step closer to becoming a carbon-neutral venue in the not-so-distant future.”

SLANDER Share Another Round of “Love Is Gone” Remixes, Starting with R3HAB [LISTEN]

SLANDER are rolling out a second round of star-studded remixes for their massive hit “Love Is Gone” featuring Dylan Matthew.

Known for minimal production on verses, while relying on basic synth notes to let vocals shine through, Dutch/Moroccan multi-platinum DJ and producer R3HAB leads the new run of remixes. His production rocks a slow and steady, future four on the floor groove with clean sound design and unique flair.

Previously, Spag Heddy, Synymata, Crystal Skies, Kompany, ALRT, Danny Olson, and Current Values released their own versions of the track. Coming up, Kaskade, Alok and Armin van Buuren have all been tapped for “Love Is Gone” remixes, as well.

SLANDER share of the announcement:

We are so excited to finally reveal the second remix pack for “Love Is Gone”! For this pack we reached out to some absolute legends in dance music, and we were thrilled they wanted to be a part of it. In particular Armin and Kaskade were two of the first electronic DJ’s we ever saw perform and they left lasting positive impressions on us until this day. NGHTMRE Drops Heavy-Hitting Hip Hop Collab “MOSH” ft. Smokepurpp [LISTEN]

NGHTMRE and Smokepurpp have joined forces for a hard-hitting collab, “MOSH.”

The song projects NGHTMRE into the upper echelons of hip hop production, while showcasing Smokepurpp’s passion for lyricism. The heavy combo of brutal 808s and menacing rap flow is enough to entice a mosh pit, even sans builds and drops.

NGHTMRE shares of the collaboration:

Smokepurpp is one of my favorite people in the hip hop world right now. Getting to work together on this song and video was so dope! The energy when he’s on set or just in the room is always noticeably higher. We really wanted to create a new anthem for bass music that would get the mosh pits goin at our live shows!! He crushed it on this track and his performance in the video as well.
