Burko Debuts His Vocals on New Single “Here Before”

Burko has taken over the SoCal scene by storm with his uniquely dark-yet-melodic style of house and techno. Today, he showcases his vocal prowess by debuting his own vocal performance on his new track, “Here Before,” a driving melodic techno track. With “Here Before,” Burko solidifies his range of talents as one of the few house/techno producers who can deliver a stunning vocal performance.

On “Here Before” Burko tells us: “When I wrote “Here Before” I was in my last bit of grad school, and had a lot of pressure from family to go into a more traditional line of work after graduation. I knew I needed to push myself and the Burko project harder if I was going to move into music full time after graduating, so I decided to do something with this song I had never done before, sing on my own track. Putting nerves aside of letting my singing voice be heard, I wrote these vocals around the theme of “staying the course.” The lyric in the song, “Don’t lose sight of why we’re here” is a reminder to myself not to lose sight of the dream of making music and touring after graduation, instead of a more traditional route. And the title, “Here Before,” refers to the place in my mind I sometimes end up at, when fear of the future sets in and I have to remind myself to stay the course.”

Be on the look out as Burko continues to evolve with every new release.

Kartypartyy Teams Up With PURGE For Booming Single, “Rock Like This” [Rude Service]

If there was ever a song to get us through hump day, it’s “Rock Like This“, the booming bass eccentric single from the brilliant minds of Kartypartyy and PURGE. Both Kartpartyy and PURGE have Asian roots and met for the first time at EDC Las Vegas 2021. Kartypartyy was playing on the Welcome Records Art Car takeover and invited PURGE to come rock with him on stage and boom, the rest is history!

One listen to through and it’s evident how well Kartypartyy and PURGE work together. According to these artists, this track was produced with banger energy in mind from the get-go. The inspiration was purely about revving it like a car engine, switching gears, and accelerating through the night. It’s safe to say “Rock Like This” delivers on providing this type of unbridled energy, featuring thundering synths and a electrifying drop that might just melt your speakers.

Movement Detroit Unveils Lineup Teaser with Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Adam Beyer

After an explosive 2020 lineup never came to fruition, many Movement-goers were left itching to see what Paxhau would bring (back) to the table for this year.

Albeit, this is just a teaser, there is already an impressive buzz being generated among fans with the balance of 2020 lineup names, new favorites, and festival mainstays.

The Movement mainstage has always been home to dance music heavy-weights. This year is no different with Drumcode label boss Adam Beyer, Techno titan Richie Hawtin; as well as renowned Techno pioneer, and Detroit Native Jeff Mills, rounding out the headlining spots for each day.

“Of all the places I’ve traveled to and audiences I’ve played music for, Detroit is still the city that remains the barometer of advanced creative knowledge and technique,” states Mills. “…The city taught me to never fear what lies beyond but embrace it as a means to advance the music art form. I look forward to Movement 2022 – returning back to the city and to the people that taught me and the World everything.”

Rejoining us from the last lineup comes UK Drum and Bass legends Goldie and LTJ Bukem, who will finally be able to perform together for their first time as Goldie b2b LTJ Bukem. Other returning names include The Blessed Madonna, Louie Vega, Maceo Plex, Seth Troxler, Anna, Blawan, Carl Craig, Claude Von Stroke, Nina Kraviz, and Eris Drew b2b Octa Octa.

With the inclusion of so many stellar names you almost miss out of the new additions to this years lineup that we weren’t seeing before— LCD Soundsystem frontman and DFA co-founder, James Murphy; NYC mainstay and “45 Queen” Natasha Diggs; Naples rising Techno star Anfisa Letyago; Noise Manifesto co-owner Paula Temple; and Chicago’s singer-songwriter and producer duo DRAMA.

In typical Movement fashion, they have kept up with bringing an utterly original experience to Detroit, emphasizing authenticity and a lineup that showcases differing styles, identities, artists, and more. They have continuously shown their fingers on the pulse of what current dance music fans are craving.

Movement 2022 3-Day and 1-Day Passes for both GA and VIP are on sale now at www.movement.us. Payment Plan options are also available.

Chuwe Drops Super Fresh Remix of Daddy Yankee

Daddy Yankee’s Gasolina is a 2 decade old hit that still slaps like it did back in the day. It seems electronic solo artist Chuwe feels this way as well, he’s flipped the classic to make it his own and be fully ready for the clubs.

“Gasolina (Chuwe Remix),” helps the vibe get buck-wild with it’s house-dominant approach which plucks samples from the original and mixes it with his style. The track nails a modern electronic feel with concepts of the original song. The aura is easy to put on repeat and would go great into any set that’s ready to ignite the night.

This is far from Chuwe’s first release, the man has been around the block when it comes to making music, with many of his tracks gaining nice support through and through. Diplo, DJ Snake, Marshmello, Skrillex, Yellow Claw, Major Lazer, have all supported his music at one time or another, giving sign that this artist is headed in the right direction.
