PREMIERE: RN ISMO Unveils Groovy ‘All I Can Be’ EP

Inspired by the Detroit underground scene, RN ISMO’s production stems to the minimalistic approach while keeping its true essence on the groove and catchy hooks. He has gathered support from such artists as Lee Foss, Westend, Solardo, MK, Detlef, Dillon Nathaniel, CODES, E.R.N.E.S.T.O and many more. His first release “Elevate” on Late Night Munchies topped Tech House Hype charts and earned his way into TOP 10 singles for the label. He sparked international interest with his release on Issues, remixing the house music legend Detlef on the track “Dub Clap.” Just recently, RN ISMO joined top-ranked tech house label Repopulate Mars with his single “Melting Head”, a collaboration with Andre Salmon and Cami Jones.

Continuing to build on the momentum, the talented young producer is back with a groove EP titled ‘All I Can Be‘, signed to Admit One. RN ISMO is a wizard in the studio, carefully crafting melodies and drum rhythms that draw you in instantly into his own beautiful world. The title track sets the scene with a smooth, jazz house vibe, as “Addicted” follows, picking up the pace with a sizzling bass line that will instantly have your body moving. “Wonder” showcases the minimal and tech house roots of RN ISMO that evokes memories of getting lost in the music and lights of the night club. RIFFA’s remix to the title track caps off the EP in perfect fashion, with a sweltering tech house flip.

Josh Rubin Delivers Riveting Single, “Hold On” [Found Red Records]

Josh Rubin, a singer, and songwriter from Austin, TX, came onto the scene in 2015 and made his way up the ranks of the dance music world as a powerhouse vocalist delivering hard-hitting and emotionally driven vocals. His music has been released on well-known dance labels such as Seeking Blue, Monstercat, Lowly, Dim Mak, Proximity, and many more. His music has also been played out at major festivals such as Coachella and EDC Vegas and in the past year, he’s already supported known acts such as Pixel Terror, Nurko, and ARMNHMR bringing an exciting vocal-driven performance to the stage.

Now, he’s back with a riveting single, “Hold On” signed to Mr Suicide Sheep’s presigious Found Red Records. “Hold On” features a dynamic performance from himself paired with high class production. The sounds and his vocals work seamlessly, building into what is a sensational drop that can’t help but keep you utterly mesmerized.

Josh Rubin says “I went through a phase in the past where it felt like I was kind of sabotaging my own relationships. And that was due to the mistrust that accumulated over time through past heartbreak and bad experiences. Your heart naturally is going to start to build a wall to protect you from feeling that again. This song is about just that, me realizing that it’s happening and feeling this person start to slip away. It’s me putting it out there that I’m aware I have these issues that I need to work through, but if you’ll just believe in me and give me some support and guidance I think we can get through this. The moment you stop holding on is the moment we’re lost.”

ILLENIUM Remixes Nirvana’s “Something In The Way” From BATMAN In Collab With DC Comics

A little less than two weeks ago, ILLENIUM teased some sort of collaboration with Batman, the popular franchise from DC Comics, coming out April 22. While we’re still two days away, he surprised fans with his first remix in over 2 years, tackling the iconic “Something In The Way” by Nirvana which saw renewed popularity after “The Batman” was released in theaters.

The remix is slower and more akin to wave than a lot of ILLENIUM’s most recent material, making this a truly special collaboration between one of the biggest EDM artists and one of the juggernauts of superhero comics.

In addition to the remix, fans can also check out some official Batman x ILLENIUM merchandise available this Friday.

The official Batman X ILLENIUM jersey and merchandise will be available for pre-sale this Friday at 10am PT. I’ve been a huge fan of the DC Universe and Batman for years now so am stoked for this release!

Exclusive: Whipped Cream Talks New Music, Living Through Love, Plus Much More

During Ultra Music Festival in Miami last March, we caught up with Canadian producer Caroline Cecil aka Whipped Cream who has kept an avid fanbase ever since her music career began back in 2015 with the release of her Law of Attraction EP. We sat down with Whipped Cream just 1 hour before she would take over the Worldwide stage at Ultra.

Hey Caroline, Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us. How does it feel to be back in Miami playing Ultra?

I’m so excited. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a set. I think the only reason why that is, is that I’ve never been so ready for a show. I have so much new music ready that I got to work on during the lockdown.

And as far as your release schedule do you have your albums and singles for the year planned out?

Yea, I have one that comes out right after Coachella. And I’ll probably do a project following suit.

I recently saw that you were in the studio with up and coming producer Juelz. Are there any up and coming artists that you resonate with sonically that you would like to work on new music with?

One producer that I recently just found and he’s been around for a while actually is Corvad. He actually has a record in the new Batman movie and that’s how I found him and all of his music is really killer. I really like this guy Knock2. I really think he’s going to be a big time producer really soon. Obviously I really like Juelz. We have a record coming out together in June or July.

Being one of the most prominent female DJs in electronic music. What insight could you lend or what changes do you think could be made to allow more women to enter the space?

I think a lot of stuff that happens to me and a lot of other women is unfair because a lot of it goes unspoken about and a lot of us just bite our tongue. And to each their own. If you really believe in yourself and you really believe you’re a hard worker. Just know within yourself that you’re deserving to be here and that your work will speak for itself. Have utter belief in yourself, put your blinders on and nothing else matters. Nothing else matters except what you’re doing.

What is the most important piece of knowledge or advice that you have specifically accrued through extensive years of touring in the music industry?

When I started I remember walking out of my retail job. I was working a 9-5 and I knew I loved music so much. And I walked out of the retail job knowing I was going to make music. I remember I decided it with such conviction like I already was the big innovative music producer and pioneer of my craft. And I didn’t even know how to make music at that time. But I felt it and I knew it. I knew what I wanted to do, which was to do music out of love. Now to fast forward 8 years into the future sitting next to you. I live in Caroline’s truth every single day. That feeling when you already know everything is good it doesn’t matter what the outer world is saying to you. You have to believe in yourself. And I haven’t even scratched the surface.

Are there any influences or even non musical influences that played a heavy role into shaping your project today?

Definitely early James Blake, Tyler The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Frank Ocean, Danny Brown, Active Child, Obviously Kanye West, Skrillex, DJ Sliink, Swizzymack.I also really like cinema and movies and being out in nature in the greater universe. And just watching people. I’m really weird and I don’t fit in but that’s okay.

What advice do you have to up and coming creatives who look up to you, your project, and your music?

I think I would tell them to believe in your vision. Have your ears open because there’s a lot of people around you who want to help you. Don’t be stubborn. The quicker you can lose your ego and not be afraid to get dirty and messy the better. Don’t give a fuck what anyone else says. Were all souls were all energy. Just be a good person. You’ve got to live through love. If you don’t you have to figure it out and do it as quick as possible to move towards love every day of your life.

Exclusive: Slushii Talks About Rosalía, His New Album E.L.E, Plus Much More

Very few have been able to keep such a dominate, mesmerizing presence within electronic music meanwhile undergoing multiple transformations, one of them being Julian Scanlan, aka Slushii. Slushii recently dropped a brand new full length album titled E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) at the beginning of March on Monstercat. We sat down with Slushii just before his set at Ultra in Miami to discuss everything from new music to a potential collaboration with Rosalía and much more.

Hey Julian, Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us. How does it feel to be back in Miami?

Its great. I’ve been on this boat 2 -3 times. It’s like going back to high school again. Just another year.

You just released your new album “Extinction Level Event” can you tell us more about the creative process behind putting that album together?

E.L.E. was my 2 – 3 year journey of figuring out what I wanted to say through my music and why I wanted to say it. The message was super long at first and then I was figuring out how I can shorten it because attention spans are super short.

What made you choose that name?

So the ERU is this evil organization that’s in the world of the Slushii album thing. So E.L.E. is the girl on the front cover of the album. She is the one thing that can cause an extinction level event. An extinction level event for the villain.

Do you ever envision yourself expanding the world of ELE.

100% I would love to even do a mini project like what’s E.L.E’s favorite pizza spot or what’s E.L.E’s favorite sushi spot. Kind of giving people a look into that world would be really cool.

I was skimming through your Instagram I saw Rosalía reached out to you…

So this is the first time anyone has ever actually brought this up. So Rosalía if your watching this right now I feel like an idiot. She DM’d me like 5 years ago. 2017 she DM’d me and I’m not a big social media guy. I am, but i’m not. So messages would just get filtered. Her DM got filtered as harmful or spam…… Mark Zuckerberg, thank you. The Rosalía collab was probably axed because of that but who knows; you never know. I would say, Rosalía if you’re reading this, te amo. I would love to make something happen. It would be super dope. I legitimately did not see your DM. You’re probably not going to see this but thank you for reaching out 5 years ago. Instagram sucks.

I see you only follow one person on Twitter – Kanye West. What does Kanye West mean to Slushii?

Kanye West is… I will say– I see what he’s trying to do and I’m with it. Like what he’s trying to do with the stem player. I see he’s trying to usher in a new era like Steve Jobs did with bringing iTunes, bringing the iPad. Giving the people something that they can physical hold and just does what its supposed to do. It’s so simple.

What can fans expect from Slushii for the rest of the year? Are you working on any fun projects inside or outside of music?

A lot of music, music videos, crazy sponsorship collabs, a bit of everything, the great part about the last 6 years is that I’ve been able to carve out a path that is a bit of everything. Videogame stuff, or collabing or doing stuff in Japan.

Are there any video game companies that you want to work with?

Resident Evil is my favorite video game of all time. Mortal Kombat would be sick. Dance Dance revolution. I’m a big fan of that. More Fortnite stuff in the works. That is my world and I’m glad the fans listened to the story I’ve been telling

What is the most important piece of knowledge or advice that you have specifically accrued through extensive years of touring in the music industry?

I would say get more sleep. Name your projects correctly. Please dear lord because I’ve lost so many projects that way and I still haven’t corrected the problem. And live in the moment, enjoy it because just as quickly that moment is gone as soon as it came. So soak that moment in as long as you can. So yea its just living in the moment

Does that keep you inspired?

I think it’s a bit of a double edged sword because everything’s great until it’s not great and it’s all about how you take it in. Every now and then I’ll spin out of control. But as long as your staying optimistic and have a good group of people around you, you can do anything.

Are there any influences or even non musical influences that played a heavy role into shaping your project today?

I think Toonami and Cartoon Network. Like anime and a lot of Nickelodeon. A lot of 90s nostalgic good burger and 90s cartoon media definitely had a huge influence on me.

Who are your top 3 artists to watch this year?

Volt, Mikey Rotten, and Softishard.

What advice do you have to up and coming creatives who look up to you, your project, and your music?

Keep producing, keep writing and keep moving forward. Whenever you get knocked down, get back up.

Is there anything else you want to say to your fans that have been sticking with you throughout the entirety of your career?

I hope you’re well. It’s 2022 let’s do the damn thing.
