Noisia Confirm Third & Final Album: Closer (feat. Skrillex, Camo & Krooked, IMANU & more)

Three weeks ago, we reported on a tweet from NOISIA announcing a “third and final album.” At the time, we were so excited about the prospect that we failed to notice the day of the tweet: April 1. Based on the trio’s previous revelation of their imminent breakup, and the realization of the day, we were made to believe it was, in fact, an April Fool’s tweet.

However, today, that has been proven demonstrably false.

NOISIA will release their third and final album, Closer, on May 12. The 20-strong tracklist, 11 new songs and 9 previously released tracks, includes collaborations with some of their closest friends, from Skrillex to Black Sun Empire, and Former to The Upbeats, an international cabal of leading drum & bass and bass music figures from Europe, New Zealand, and North America. Testament to Nik, Martijn, and Thijs’ desire to add to their legacy, Closer is a thrilling snapshot of where the band might have gone were they to continue beyond this summer’s final curtain at Lowlands on August 21, and gives their fans access to some hidden gems that have remained in the band’s vaults until now.

Noisia said:

“Hello Person.
After Outer Edges we were trying to find a new direction for Noisia. This resulted in an extensive journey that took us through a lot of new ideas and music.

Although we eventually decided to stop, we are proud of the things we made along the way, and these tunes were always meant to be part of a larger whole. So before we finally close the book on Noisia, we wanted to share them with you, on one last album. Previously released or newly finished, they all represent directions we enjoyed exploring.

In the end, we didn’t manage to figure things out. But we did get closer.”

Nik will continue working on his solo project, Sleepnet; Thijs wants to focus on scoring for films and games, while also writing club and listening music under his moniker Thys; and Martijn and Jaap de Vries are currently making a move back towards their roots with Zonderling.

Burko Drops Highly Anticipated EP “Can’t Stay Here”

The San Diego-based producer, Burko, released this powerful two-track EP on April 22 via There Is A Light Records. The EP opens with the track, “Can’t Stay Here.” The 5-minute song is a progressive masterpiece that is destined to swoon listeners into the night with its rhythmic beats and dreamy female vocals. The track is paired with ”Reflection,” a 7-minute hypnotic dance anthem that welcomes listeners with an ethereal melody before gradually building to a higher-energy sound.

I was sent the vocals to “Can’t Stay Here” and immediately heard the song I would end up producing; I took the song that the vocalist had written and took things in a completely different direction.” – Burko

Madeon Releases New Single “Love You Back” Following Back-To-Back Coachella Weekends

Popular opinion seems to point toward Madeon’s sets at Coachella both weekends as being among the highlights of the festival. And if you were lucky enough to not have any conflicts during his set (for instance, Moore Kismet on weekend 2, sadly), you were lucky enough to witness his new song “Love You Back” before it released today.

As confirmed by Madeon himself on Twitter, “Love You Back” was originally meant to be track #3 on Good Faith, so it’s only natural that its sonic tone feels like a natural continuation of his latest album project.

Here’s what alice.km had to say about it:

I was directly inspired by the style of “Ankara (Zone+ & Usif Remix) by Birds of Mind when beginning this track. That has been one of my favorite tracks for a few years, and I wanted to create my own production that would elicit a similar emotional response.”

He’s already worked with major music labels such as Sony Music Colombia, High Beats Records, Lowly and has released collaborations with singers such as Matthew Finley, (39M+ Total Plays), Nino Lucarelli (66M+), Sergio Acosta (90M+) and more, which earned RYOKER important positions in editorial playlists such as:  mint Latin, ‘New Music Friday Latin’ and many more.

Elae Weekes is an emerging artist hailing from the East Coast (USA), known for using elements of different genres of music such as: R&B, Pop, and Caribbean inspired styles he has created his own fusion. On tour, Elae touched base in Spain, France, Monaco, and England. RYOKER And Elae Weekes collaboration “I See You” was an immense success for the artists, earning over 200k views on YouTube. Now, they’ve tapped some very talented producers to provide fresh takes on the original. Kicking things off is How3ll, who blends old school along with piano house elements to create what is hopelessly captivating remix. Vedeus follows with a tech house flip that features a gritty bass line, giving it the feeling of something that could go off in a FISHER or Vintage Culture type of set. Dazed rounds out the remix package with a more progressive angle, infusing hypnotic melodies and piano stabs that drive the song wonderfully.

During the second verse of the song, I say the line “Feel the bass down low, I can feel the music high, I know this is weird but I don’t care what you’re doing to me.” This was one of the most important lines for me  because  it places the listener in the club  and allows them to feel the vibe and the tension between the two lovers. – Elae Weekes

EDC Las Vegas Adding New, Ninth Stage To Festival Grounds This Year: bionicJUNGLE

Though the last EDC Las Vegas was only six months ago in October, a rare and one-of-a-kind move after being delayed in 2020 and 2021 due to the global pandemic, we will once again sit under the electric sky next month at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

With the lineup already announced and stage lineups out, Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella has revealed some more surprising information about this year’s festival — we’re getting yet another new stage.

After adding stereoBLOOM and quantumVALLEY to the festival some years ago, we are getting our ninth stage now devoted to all genres of house music: bionicJUNGLE (previously referred to as skyLAB).

In addition to kineticFIELD, bassPOD, wasteLAND, cosmicMEADOW, circuitGROUNDS, and neonGARDEN, attendees are sure to find any place to enjoy the music they dream of all weekend long.

Rotella says the lineup is coming soon, and the stage will be situated between neonGARDEN and Downtown EDC toward the center of the festival grounds; that means it’ll either be a smaller stage with Pixel Forest, the wedding chapel, and System Square already in the vicinity, or we’ll be seeing another rearrangement of the festival grounds this year.

Made a HOUSE call to the jungle to bring you guys a special announcement.

Adding our newest stage to @EDC_Lasvegas, #bionicJUNGLE! All genres of House Music being played all night long.

PIERCE Releases Massive ‘PULSE’ EP [WAKAAN]

There’s no doubt that PIERCE is in a league of his own. His music is an outlet for self-expression, which has resonated with fans across the globe. This recognition landed him opportunities to release his music on major platforms including Bassrush Records, Dim Mak, Mad Decent, Never Say Die, and most recently, Liquid Stranger’s WAKAAN. While growing his fanbase and climbing the ranks, PIERCE collaborated with and garnered support from other talented artists such as LUZCID, Champagne Drip, Ivory, Eliminate, and many more.

Now, he’s back with an absolutely massive ‘PULSE‘ EP, signed to WAKAAN, that is his finest work to date. Loaded with heavy bass, hard-hitting trap, and innovative sound design, PIERCE’s talent shines from start to finish. The title track and “Higher” each carry their own weight, oozing with bass goodness, but “Braindead” tops the EP in our opinion. PIERCE is a master at sampling vocals and this song is no exception, and the drop might just melt your speakers.

PIERCE says, “each song tells a story, my story.”
