Marshmello Confirms It’s Finally “Album Time” for “My Day 1 Mellogang”

Back in August last year, Marshmello announced that he’d be releasing his fourth album by the end of the year. That obviously didn’t happen, but then in January this year, he finally shared that the album was complete. Now, after performing at UCL Final Opening Ceremony, he says it’s actually “album time.”

The performance featured a number of fan-favorite tracks from across the years, including his collaborations with Selena Gomez and Khalid. But fans are even more excited for the prospect of new music from the helmeted artist.

Been a crazy few weeks. From the NFT drop to leave before you love me to back in time then the uefa performance yesterday. Now it’s album time for my Day 1 Mellogang

A rumored leaked tracklist is currently making the rounds on Twitter, showing possible collaborations with DJ Sliink, Sippy, Subtronics, Peekaboo, TroyBoi, Juicy J & Eptic, Nitti Gritti, and the recently released Carnage collab, “Back In Time.”

Whether this tracklist turns out to be true remains to be seen, but if we’re thinking about his “Day 1’s,” then there could be some merit to it.

Update : Possible tracklist of Marshmello’s new album. Seems like this possible collab it’s not in this tracklist but this isn’t official yet. pic.twitter.com/4yRWDa8i1f

Getter’s First EP Of The Year Is Officially Here [LISTEN]

Three days ago, Getter dropped the first single from his new Some Creature EP, “Blood Harvest,” and finally introduced his Terror Reid alias into his main project. The following days, he also dropped “Some Creature” and “With No Eyes,” the second and third tracks sequentially on the EP.

Today, the full project is out and as he previously promised, it blows NAPALM out of the water. Six tracks of intense bass, wild sound design, and ear splitting synths paint a devilish picture throughout the EP.

Check it out below!

Skrillex & Njomza Join Forces on Deep Cut “Over and Done” [LISTEN]

Skrillex is listed as one of several writers on “over and done,” a new single from Njomza.

The deep cut embraces a sick and heartfelt pop/trap atmosphere, with heavy bass, soft melodics, swelling synths and piano chords that hit just right. The instrumental elements glue together, setting the track’s intention as Njomza delivers a powerful vocal performance.

Previously we heard these two together on “Pretty Bye Bye,” a smoldering, OWSLA-released track between Skrillex, Team EZY and Njomza. The song, released in 2016, still plays out brilliantly and is definitely worth revisiting — listen here.

“over and done” and “winter in atlanta” featuring Russ serve as a standout singles off Njomza’s forthcoming 7-track LIMBO EP, due out June 18.

So Many Fans Showed Up For Trivecta’s Special Tribe Set At SMF They Had To Shut Down The Stage

When the set times were first announced for Sunset Music Festival in Tampa, going on right now this weekend, fans were livid that Trivecta had been booked for an opening slot first day on the main stage at 3pm. That early, a lot of fans wouldn’t be able to see him play because they would still be going through security during his set.

The fans made such a fuss that even Disco Donnie himself was posting memes like this while seeing what he could do to appease everyone.

Soooooo @TrivectaMusic still needs to talk to his team but we are working on it… I made these new set times to tide you over for a bit pic.twitter.com/EWSgxStzNu

— Disco Donnie (@RealDiscoDonnie) May 13, 2021

Then, finally, 8 days before the event was due to begin, they managed to find a slot to fit in a second Trivecta set for 6pm on the smaller Cool Down, Get Down tent.

WE FIXED IT. Saturday is gonna be one for the books. Hometown party here we goooo https://t.co/ZOWh3OmsDm

— Trivecta (@TrivectaMusic) May 21, 2021

Now, in retrospect, this was probably not as good an idea as one might think. Judging by how many people wanted to show up for his main stage set when the festival was just opening, how would they be able to fit in so many people in a smaller stage? And that’s precisely what ended up happening.

The support for Trivecta was so tremendous that after playing just one song, the stage had to be shut down/evacuated for security purposes.

Guys…. ain’t nothing like I’ve ever seen before. Y’all pulled up so hard that they literally SHUT DOWN THE TENT IN THE FIRST SONG. I am so god damn sorry for everyone who got evacuated. At the mercy of the fest but we are seeing what we can do I love you guys so much

— Trivecta (@TrivectaMusic) May 29, 2021

There was ass long as line for Sam in a tiny tent and it was moving very slow and everyone started lifting up the tent covers to get in and everyone swarmed into the tent during the Mega Collab and we were all evacuated out due to over capacity

— 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘢 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘣 𝘙𝘢𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳 (@homer_j_23) May 29, 2021

I still don’t know what to say about today. The line for that tent wrapped around it three times. Played ONE SONG and it was too much and it got shut down. Dunno how to process. Shit man

— Trivecta (@TrivectaMusic) May 30, 2021

And THEN, to top things off, Trivecta and Seven Lions played a special b2b afterparty set at the Ritz, where Disco Donnie promised “5k per word that Jeff speaks on the mic at the after party (up to 25k),” because he never speaks on the mic. And boom.

I just confirmed with Jeff’s parents the he did speak so 25k to a local charity of his choice https://t.co/NJJQiCVhbU

— Disco Donnie (@RealDiscoDonnie) May 30, 2021

What a special first day for SMF, it all begins again today with sets from Rezz, Slander, Swarm, 12th Planet, LSDREAM, Champagne Drip, Green Velvet, Destructo, and more.

Marshmello Discusses New Album, Working with Juice WRLD, deadmau5 Beef & More

Marshmello has been hitting the media circuit hard ahead of his forthcoming album, with features in both Forbes and GQ this weekend.

Usually a man, or Mello, of few words — the producer has found his voice and sounds as focused as ever. In the recent interviews, he dishes on his many collaborations, playing the Champions League final, working with Juice WRLD, putting his feud with deadmau5 to rest, and of course, his new album.

The GQ interview gets into project’s early beginnings, revealing how Marshmello and his team stumbled upon the idea for his now iconic helmet. The Forbes interview goes even deeper, revealing more about the man behind the mask, and even touching on his personal life.

As for what styles we can expect to hear from Marshmello this year…

Pop, hip-hop and pop/hip-hop, EDM and everything in between. Like I said, if I have any opportunity to make any kind of music, any style of music, I’m going to take that opportunity. But we already have some singles in the works, an album.

Reminiscing on the first time he worked with Juice WRLD…

I went to his house at like 4:00 AM, which is something at the time I wasn’t too used to. And we recorded four or five songs that night. And every time we got together, we did about three to five songs every single time.

And about that deadmau5 beef

I grew up listening to deadmau5, you know? He’s definitely a pioneer of electronic dance music for sure. I don’t want to get too much into it. No, it’s old news. And as far as that mask goes, I have no animosity towards him.

Check out both sources below for the most updated snapshot of Marshmello.

Getter Taps Alter-Ego Terror Reid on New Song, “BLOOD HARVEST” [LISTEN]

Getter’s Some Creature EP is upon us with its first offering, “BLOOD HARVEST.”

The track opens up with vintage theatrics that lead into a slow, steady beat accompanied by haunting textures and vox before snapping into the track’s heavy groove with a signature Getter lead. A swarm of vocal samples infiltrate the mix as the sounds of “BLOOD HARVEST” bleed together seamlessly.

An unexpected switch up at the 2-minute mark invites a pitched down run of Terror Reid lyrics and melodics from the alter ego’s debut single “UPPERCUTS.” Getter and Terror together on a single track is enough to make the crowd go wild — and this crossover hip hop outro just might be our favorite part of the entire production.

“BLOOD HARVEST” has yet to hit all streaming platforms, but the visualizer has landed on YouTube.

Still to come, five more originals from Getter as his Some Creature EP emerges.

Watch here!

Featuring nearly 40 awe-inspiring cuts, the latest ASOT mix radiates the feeling of togetherness we’ve been craving for over a year. Mix 1 / Disc 1 titled “On The Beach” takes listeners through calming, transcending waves of trance. The mix boasts collaborations between Armin van Buuren and Maor Levi, Tom Staar and Giuseppe Ottaviani, a fresh Rising Star Remix and exclusive new tracks from creators such as Alexander Popov, Aly & Fila, AVIRA, Craig Connelly and more.

Armin van Buuren shares of the milestone:

I can hardly believe we’re already at the eighteenth edition in this mix album series. A lot of artists – myself included – had a lot of fun in the studio this year, and the amazing output reflects that. It was especially tough to decide which tracks would make it into the final mix, but I am very pleased with how it all turned out. Leaves me to tell you to turn up that volume and enjoy the full length mix as a whole!

Malaa Leads Tchami’s ‘Year Zero’ Remix Album with New Spin on “Praise” [LISTEN]

Days ago, Tchami revealed an entire Year Zero remix album is coming soon — and today, Malaa leads the pack with an expert take on standout single “Praise” featuring Gunna.

Blending bass and tech house elements with eerie trap synths and a glitchy groove, Malaa makes his mark on the first of many upcoming remixes. Equipped with mad flow, quirky sound design and a squeaky clean mixdown, the production comes together as seamlessly as the original.

Tchami weighs in on the remix:

When I asked Malaa which track he wanted to remix, he picked ‘Praise’ featuring Gunna almost instantly. I absolutely love the vibe of this one and hope everyone will appreciate his hard work on it.

Tchami and Malaa are known for their menacing team-ups, as heard with “Summer 99,” “Prophecy,” “Kurupt,” “The Sermon,” and more. Not to mention the chemistry seen and heard with their in-demand b2b DJ sets.

SQUATCH and Coldwall Team Up on the Uplifting, ‘Lostboy’

SQUATCH and Coldwall have dropped a tune that drives melodic bass to a high point, ‘Lost Boy,’ is the essence of their energy. Uplifting and gentle as some moments, hard-hitting at others, “Lost Boy,” knows how to hit the spot in all the right ways to make this one pop. A bit of experimentalism is featured in the first drop, while the second really goes above and beyond the call of duty.

One of the major highlights here is Moia Bri, who sweetens the deal with some seriously motivating and moving vocals. Squatch has had many strong singles drop since 2017 and continues to push the limits of what’s expected of him and the genres he dabbles in. Coldwell is getting his feet wet with more original work, but his ‘Coldwall Corruption,’ series is something to gawk at and stands the test of time.

‘Lost Boy’ is a melodic bass vibe that’s a proper joining of forces of these two talents.
