Alison Wonderland Releases Third Studio Album Today, “Loner”

Today, Alison Wonderland returns with her third studio album, Loner, following her latest Awake (2018) and debut album Run (2015). The 12-track album is Alison’s most soul-bearing album yet, and unique in that it’s all her. Setting itself apart from her two previous albums, there are no collaborations on Loner, whereas past albums have featured the likes of Trippie Redd, Slumberjack, GANZ, and Lido.

Throughout her career, Alison has been a courageous advocate for mental health discussions and honest about her own struggles with depression. Staying true to her message with Loner, she writes with a captivating new assuredness in the light that comes after the storm.

“It’s the most positive, hopeful album I have ever written,” she says. “It acknowledges the darkness but creates its own euphoria through it.”

Of the 12 tracks, half were previously released as singles, including hits “Fuck U Love U” and “Bad Things.” Among the new singles, there are quite a few surprises such as the dark “Eyes Closed” with elements of neurofunk drum & bass, or the synth-laden pop song, “Cocaine.”

Carnage announces retirement from touring and music

After decade-spanning career, Diamanté Anthony Blackmon, otherwise known as Carnage, has announced his retirement from music and touring. He will embark on a 5 show grand finale tour known as “Carnage & Rare Presents: Thank You.” These shows will be the last time fans can experience a CARNAGE performance.

To bring the evolution of Carnage around in full circle, he is heading back to the venues and cities that catapulted his career over a decade ago. Tickets go on sale this Monday, details can be found on ThankYouCarnage.com

Taking over Avalon (LA) for the last time on May 26th, Carnage will pay homage to the west coast club that gave him his first headline booking. On May 28th, Carnage will return to Webster Hall (NY), the venue that hosted his first sold-out show in New York, with celebrity guest appearances from acts like Tiësto dating back as far as 2013. On May 30th, Carnage wraps up his North American existence at Stereo Live Houston for his true final performance. A very special market and venue for Carnage and Diamanté personally. Before hanging up the jersey forever, Carnage will head to Australia for his two final festival performances on June 4th (Sydney) and 11th (Gold Coast) at Lunar Electric Festival.

Carnage says:

‘Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life.

After 14 years, CARNAGE has been put to rest and is officially dead.

As many of you know, I grew up in Guatemala and came to the U.S. as a child who did not speak any English. The descendant of illegal immigrants, my family came to America to pave the way for a better life for me.

It’s honestly hard to describe the ups and downs in my life as Carnage over the past 14 years. Today you see all the success and the flash, but what you didn’t see was my struggle. Years of grinding trying to turn my dreams into reality, countless nights in the studio, sleeping on friends couches, scraping money together to get by. I was just a kid with a dream and looking back I really do pinch myself.

I started my journey as CARNAGE in 2008 and together, with the help of my loyal fans, have been able to achieve some of my wildest dreams. From working with music icons like Avicii, Drake, Swedish House Mafia, MIGØS, Tïesto, Young Thug, The Martinez Brothers, and Kanye West to selling out clubs, theaters, arenas, stadiums, and festivals around the world, all I can say is THANK YOU it truly means the world.

ASOC Family, you mean everything to me. I would be nothing without my fans, I cant describe how many of you have touched my soul and changed my life, you are what kept me going these past 14 years. ASOC Family will live on forever.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go out in style. If CARNAGE is going to die there must be – A Grand Finale.

THANK YOU’

While this appears to be the end of Carnage, it is likely not the end of Diamanté Anthony Blackmon. The question is whether he will continue beyond these shows to perform as GORDO, and his social media is pointing to yes. Either way, you can catch the final Carnage shows in the US later this month.

WHIPPED CREAM Embraces Inner “Child” with Captivating New Single & Music Video [MUST LISTEN]

Celebrate your inner “Child” with WHIPPED CREAM‘s latest masterpiece, a song that lives in the moment as we did when we were younger.

The new anthem written and produced by Caroline Cecil aka WHIPPED CREAM is raw and emotional, focusing on inner strength and inspiration. Through its beautiful, wholesome sounds and message, “Child” asks that for the next three minutes and 13 seconds, we let go of the pressures of everyday life and just be free.

The song’s music video flashes back to Cecil as a child, as she spent her formative years as a competitive figure skater, before a fateful accident shifted her focus and passion to music production. Cut between exquisite shots of a vast Canadian landscape, she laces up her skates and hits the ice once again with composed power and grace.

‘Child’ is a record about the little kid inside of you before they were told no. The vision behind the record is inspired by a little kid playing in the rain, in puddles, and in mud, wearing bright clothes, just grateful for every moment. The vision of the song is to get to that feeling as an adult, to live in the now, and not worry about what others think. Just be free. – WHIPPED CREAM

As those familiar with the project already know, it’s impossible to simply hear WHIPPED CREAM’s music, it’s better felt — and “Child” speaks to the heart. Watch here.

P.S. If you love what you hear, we also recommend WC’s recent release “CRY.”

PREMIERE: Medii Releases Fantastic ‘Replica Red’ EP

With the odds arguably stacked against them geographically, producers Ari Kyle and Adam Lilley (L.A. and London respectively) initially connected through a couple of shared comments on soundcloud. This led to a DM conversation, the revelation they were both working with releases on the same record label and realization of a shared ideology and outlook on music production and the wider music industry as a whole,  eventually evolvIing into Medii. From releasing music under both major and independent labels, to winning International Songwriting competitions as well as winning over new listeners with each offering, Medii is providing a soundtrack to both the moments in life worth celebrating and those that encourage careful introspection.

Now, Medii is in the midst of a defining season of releases. Made up of three parts, ‘Binary Blue’, ‘Replica Red,’ and ‘What If This Is All Real’ – the two EP’s and final LP brings listeners through an extensive, dynamic sonic adventure that arcs across several weeks.

We are excited to premiere their highly anticipated ‘Replica Red‘ EP that truly showcases just how talented Medii are. The songwriting is top notch as is the productions, spanning a variety of genres with exceptional sounds incorporated throughout. Whether it’s the blissful melodies of “My Mind’s Escaping“, the summer time vibe of “Precious Time“, or the anthemic feel of “For Life“, Medii created a result that is spectacular. They even covered Post Malone’s “Circles” that provides an entirely new side of the track, perfectly meshing their style with that of Post Malone.

Closing out the EP is “Precious Time” and is perhaps the most soulful out of all the collection of songs. The vibe ironically has a ‘end credits’ feel to it – containing both a reflective essence to it while maintaining a chipper emotional state.

What If This Is All Real will be the final chapter of Medii cohesive rollout, slated to be an awe-inspiring ending to a project they’ve put their all into.

If a single track is like a good movie, then an album is a 14 episode mini series. Creating an emotional journey over a single track is possible, but only an album can tell the whole story. – Medii

PREMIERE: NICOLAAS & Supertaste Team Up For Funk-Tastic Single, “Anyone Else”

For uber-prolific songwriter and producer Rob Bakker, current project NICOLAAS is just a dot on a thread of work filled with hit songs, high level collaborations and three Juno Award nominations (Canadian Grammy). This thread weaved through the underground/conscious hip-hop world in the 2000’s, via his project Muneshine. Muneshine was extremely successful, especially in Rob’s home country of Canada where he was also long-listed for the prestigious Polaris Prize – twice. On top of all of this, he’s had the privilege over the years to worked with absolute starts like Portugal. The Man, Tom Waits, Pete Rock, Oliver and many more.

With NICOLAAS, Bakker dives deeper into the discotheque, and over the course he’s crafted his own impeccable sound that fuses funk, soul, and disco all together for an incredible result. His latest single is another slice of disco heaven, collaborating with duo Supertaste who add silky vocals to this already funk-tastic single, “Anyone Else”. Every aspect of this song feels fresh and rejuvenating, and it couldn’t come at a better time with summer right around the corner.

“Living and working in isolation the last couple of years has made it challenging to connect with other artists and collaborate, but that didn’t get in the way of this track! Even though we live in different countries, we found a way to connect, click and make something special happen.

Supertaste are dope artists and genuinely dope humans, so it’s been a pleasure getting to know them a little more and jam on music together. I’m super stoked on this song and am excited to finally be able to share it. This is the first release to drop leading up to my debut EP, The Way Is Forward, coming later this year.” – NICOLAAS

Supertaste adds, “this song was inspired by one of those dreams you wish you could wake up from sooner… where your brain exposes a fear and makes you feel it to the point of virtual reality. A lover in the arms of someone else, waking up in fevered heartbreak.

The Two Fake Blondes Share Catchy New Remix for “Song for When Ur Sadddd”

The Two Fake Blondes have recently shared an incredibly catchy remix of their uplifting track “Song for When Ur Sadddd” by Deadman. Whereas the original track off their previously released album Out of the Darkness was a super uplifting progressive/piano-house based tune that prominently featured vocalist Hannah Mac; the Deadman remix feels more inspired by artists like Marshmello and Ookay featuring bright, glitchy synths and a focus on the distorted vocal refrain.

Right off the bat, the remix just gives off super upbeat, summer time vibes. The track uses that future bass trick of looping the vocal to make it sort of an instrumental sound itself. With the simplification of the vocals, the ultimate message and vibe of the track comes through. Hopefully, the bright production and catchy beat will brighten up your day when you’re sad. Although, hopefully, you’re not that sadddd.

Check out the Deadman remix of the Two Fake Blondes’ “Song for When Ur Sadddd” out now.
