GunFight Unveils “Heroes and Zeroes” With An NFT Drop

Following bass anthems such as the complextro-inspired “Future Punk” and the fiery single “Street Sweeper,” US-based talent GunFight is back with his fourth release this year, this time independently sharing “Heroes and Zeroes.” Throughout his long career, GunFight has received support by industry heavyweights such as Slushii, Zeds Dead and Jauz, as well as acclaim from a large number of established publications, yet is seemingly only getting started.

“Heroes and Zeroes” compiles everything we love about GunFight’s exciting music: ruthless basslines, cinematic intros and otherworldly visuals that effortlessly take us to a futuristic setting. Coming alongside GunFight’s very first NFT release, “Heroes and Zeroes” perfectly sets the mood as the energy builds up, before the drop finally explodes into a series of bass stabs, distorted kicks and captivating vocal samples that add a lot of flavour.

Piecing the Year Zero remix album together was a lot of fun and I’m glad to have all artists that I envisioned on it. If you think about it, I’ve listened to the original tracks for more than two years and I was really curious as to what some of my favourite producers could make of it. As you can imagine, there are very different vibes in this remix album and I hope you’ll be able to hear the album with a different ear and of course, an open mind.

Gorgon City’s Deep & Dynamic New Album ‘Olympia’ is Made for the Dance Floor [LISTEN]

Today, renowned dance duo Gorgon City release their third album Olympia, via Astralwerks.

In ancient Greece, Olympia was a site of sanctuary where people would gather to praise Zeus. In creating their own Olympia, Gorgon City pay tribute to these historic human rituals – and welcome the return of collective euphoria.

An 18-track album shrouded in Greek mythology, Olympia celebrates themes of escapism and exploration, as social freedom finally feels like a reality. Full of dancefloor fillers, Olympia is a collection of the duo’s work over the last few years, while digging deeper into the sounds, experiences and emotions that have influenced their lives and work.

Speaking on the new album, Gorgon City reveal, “With this record we’ve definitely gone more clubby and have been inspired by the big shows that we played before lockdown. It’s a bigger sound and lyrically it’s different for us.”

In addition, Olympia continues the pair’s form for identifying new singing talent. Matt and Kye typically prefer to work with singers and songwriters operating outside of the dance music sphere – introducing new, stimulating elements to the Gorgon City oeuvre.

The result is deep and dynamic, lyrical and beautiful. Listen here!

Sky Society & Vocalist Ehiorobo Operate On “Holy Time” With New Single [LISTEN]

Sky Society is the beautiful vessel guided by DJ/Producer Juany Santos. The name Sky Society is an ode to Santos’ zodiac sign, Aquarius, and his natural connection to the cosmos and fascination with what goes on in the vast galaxies above us.

Over the years, Santos has established Sky Society as pioneering brand where creativity knows no bounds. The music is iconic and truly unique to Santos, which is why we are so excited about his latest release, “Holy Time“, a collaboration with immensely Monstercat vocalist, Ehiorobo.

Holy Time” is no exception to the great things we’ve come to expect from Sky Society. Together, the two make an incredible team, featuring the hauntingly sensual vocals of Ehiorobo over top Santos’ hypnotic rhythms.

Holy Time” was conceived by honoring the union of the Divine Masculine & Feminine Energies coming together as one, and is visualized in the ceremonious music video anchored by Ehiorobo’s vocal timbres and inspired by his Nigerian/Dominican/Jamaican-American roots.

Ehiorobo explains:

“As a Nigerian, Dominican, Jamaican-American, I grew up around my family playing afrobeat, soca, and merengue at family parties. In an effort to elevate the works of artists that represent my heritage, my wardrobe in the music video was contributed by a young Nigerian designer (Taofeek Abijako, ‘Head of State’) who is making a lot of waves in his industry by creating unique pieces that celebrate his cultural background.”

In addition to the song, they’ve also released a music video to provide a sensational visual experience. Ehiorobo’s music video wardrobe was also created by a young Nigerian designer (Taofeek Abijako, ‘Head of State’) who’s making waves in the fashion world by creating unique pieces that celebrate his cultural background.

Sky Society and Ehiorobo have been friends for a while and it’s amazing to hear the sonic connection they have. We cannot wait to hear more from them both but until then, enjoy “Holy Time” below!

[PREMIERE] Bass Physics introduces forthcoming debut album with new single “Every Lonely Day”

‘Tis album season, and Bass Physics is introducing his forthcoming debut album with an absolutely wonderful new single, “Every Lonely Day.”

Combining stretched bass, vocal chops, and a beautiful melody, “Every Lonely Day” is one of those magical tracks that hits both emotional and raging sides of the brain. With a quaint introduction and piano ticks, it’s followed up by an exciting and explosive drop that still gets you moving… but thinking at the same time.

“Although I have many amazing friends and adored family, I can’t help but look around in this world and notice how many lonely people there are. Every Lonely Day not only projects my own feeling of loneliness, but the loneliness of others that I empathize with. I wanted to create something beautiful to make them smile during even the lowest of lows… but also powerful to motivate them to improve their situation.” — Bass Physics

Disillusion will be Adair’s debut album as solo Bass Physics and will jumpstart his next chapter of the science of music. Check out the new single below and keep an eye out for more singles on the way to the album!

Doctor Neiman Holds Nothing Back on Latest Smash, ‘men.’

Doctor Neiman is at it again, this time getting his single “men.,” picked up by the likes of Play Me Records who clearly wanted to join forces with his creative bass driven atmosphere. Neiman has been good at stirring up a firestorm of attention around himself in 2021, NCS, Subsidia, and Circus are some of the labels who have linked up with the Austin-based artist, many of those releases having crossed over the 100,000 plays mark. In “men.” the vibe sounds sounds off with a trap and bass structure that features an absolute banger-mentality built into it. Styling quirky glitch effects and a riddim-infused drops, the man knows how use technicality to his advantage, create one impressive release to last for the long haul.

“men.” pulls away from some the rock-natured track’s Doctor Neiman has put out and instead goes full EDM, shoveling some of the heaviest samples one would need to enjoy a felt-melting work on this one. As a full time real-life doctor in the daytime, and a shredding DJ/producer by night, Doctor Neiman is a fascinating specimen in the world of dance.

Bakermat releases highly anticipated sophomore album, ‘THE SPIRIT’

Last October, just eight months ago, Bakermat released his debut album, The Ringmaster. A vast change in style for the producer, the album was a particularly stunning accomplishment and one that would have landed on our Top Albums of 2020 list had we put out a Top 11 rather than a Top 10.

Now, his sophomore effort, The Spirit, is out and it takes his newfound sound to even greater heights.

“I wanted to go back to the roots with this album,” Bakermat explained. “Combining gospel, soul and folk samples with uplifting pianos and saxophones to create a collection of feel-good songs perfect for the summer. The diversity in styles and genres is high and I experimented with elements of classical music and spoken word too. I hope this album can serve as a soundtrack for road trips, holidays and other fun times with friends and family. And lastly, I hope it inspires and connects people.”

The album ends with the beautiful “Bye Bye,” which is a collaboration with friend Lex Empress. A fan of spoken word, Bakermat wanted to create a simple interlude style track to close the album with and, from that, “Bye Bye” was born. It’s simple, very subtle and emotional and it’s a great way to end the ride through all the worlds that live within The Spirit.
