Watch All The Emotional, Explosive Sets From Illenium’s One And Only Trilogy Performance

This past weekend, Illenium made history as the first artist, electronic or otherwise, to perform at the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as well as marking the biggest performance (in the US at least) by a single headliner in electronic music. He performed a one-of-a-kind show to send off his Trilogy albums — Ashes, Awake, and Ascend — before the release of his fourth album, Fallen Embers, on July 16.

Each set was composed of not only songs from the albums themselves, but also songs he’d play in that era, during those album tours. This led to some incredibly emotional moments during the Ashes set and some truly explosive moments from the Awake and Ascend sets.

At the very end of the night, he played a short set to preview the new album, sharing three unreleased songs: “Blame Myself” with Tori Kelly, “Brave Soul” with Emma Grace, and “Crazy Times” with Said The Sky and Rock Mafia.

You can watch all of the sets in full below (for now, before they get taken down)! You can head to 1:08:00 in the Ascend set for the moment during the performance that absolutely broke this writer.

Fatboy Slim reveals he almost quit music to become firefighter

Having a career as a successful EDM producer/DJ is never guaranteed, no matter how good you might be. It’s always nice to have a backup plan, just in case, but it’s crazy to think that iconic “Praise You” and “Right Here, Right Now” producer Fatboy Slim might have given it all up to become a firefighter.

Reports The Argus, Fatboy Slim revealed the alternative life he nearly chose while speaking at an event hosted by the the Fire Fighters Charity.

“I have been in the music business pretty much all my life but there have been ups and downs and there was one particular down where everyone around was like, ‘You are going to have to actually get a proper job now because you are skint’. I thought about what job I would like to do and for some reason fireman just… I don’t know. I just had this vision that I wanted to be a fireman.”

He jokingly compared being a musician to working as a firefighter.

“You sit around for ages with your mates making up nicknames for each other, then you suddenly have to go and do something really, really important. Obviously, what I do is a bit more frivolous. And it is a great uniform and chicks dig uniform. No, I am being flippant.

“But I did (take it) seriously and I got as far as finding out what the medical involved and was I too old and I checked how many inches my chest expansion was. But then luckily I got a PRS (Performing Right Society) cheque which kept the wolf from the door and then I had another hit. I am figuring now at my age it is too late to be a fireman but I have always had the greatest respect for the fire service, I think it is very underrated of all the blue lights.”

Imagine if we never got that infamous video of Christopher Walken suspended by wires, flying around a hotel lobby to the sounds of “Weapon of Choice,” or never heard “Right Here, Right Now” in every de rigueur hacker movie of the early ’00s. Thankfully, that isn’t the case.

CAPYAC Provides Groovy Remix To Ishi’s “Goody Goody” Single ft. Cure For Paranoia & Rudy Devino [LISTEN]

It’s summer time and there’s nothing better than finding the right music to be the soundtrack to your summer, especially the latest remix from CAPYAC for Ishi’s single “Good Goody” ft. Cure For Paranoia & Rudy Devino.

CAPYAC is a surreal dance act with as much Berlin/Detroit/French electronic influences as jazz, funk and the swirl of modern genres mixed in. Started in Austin, TX with a consortium of collaborators, the founding duo is now based in Los Angeles, CA regularly featuring guest vocalists, dance troupes, and fish mongers to elate and enlighten. They have a knack for finding the perfect groove and seamlessly making music that can’t help but make you want to move.

CAPYAC’s remix of Ishi’s “Goody Goody” is groovy to the core, a beautiful combination of jazz, funk, and hip-hop with feel-good melodies. CAPYAC explains:

We decided, in the tremendous silence of an early summer evening, to remix a song by Dallas musician Ishi. After various attempts at transmutation, in our normal style of our CAPYAC remixes, we decided a scrambled egg approach fit best. The 2nd verse became the first, first verse became the bridge, each chapter of the song harking back to that musical egg we all know and love. We brought in Rudi Devino, a long time collaborator based in Austin to add some words to the mix. And in a matter of a few days, we finished the remix and continued our slow walk toward that magnificent and terrifying unknown we call ‘the incessant demand for consistency in the mechanical teeth of Spotify’s relevancy incinerator.’”

No doubt they’ve landed yet another stellar remix and out just in time for summer! Stream the CAPYAC remix to Ishi’s “Goody Goody” below!

David Guetta, MistaJam & John Newman Revive Whitney Houston Classic “If You Really Love Me” [LISTEN]

David Guetta teams up with UK DJ/tastemaker MistaJam and pop-soul sensation John Newman for a brand new collaboration, “If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know)” — out now via Warner Records.

The trio match an infectious and euphoric soundscape with a familiar chorus, breathing new life into this Whitney Houston classic through feel-good piano tones and smooth vocals. As incredible as the original is untouched, it’s fun to experience the track in a new way, built for the modern dancefloor.

David Guetta shares of the “If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know)” remake:

Who can resist the chorus from such a classic record as “How Will I Know!” Full of old school Piano House grooves, this has sunshine all the way through it. Working with MistaJam and John Newman together has made it my 2021 song of the summer.

If you’re loving this vibe, look out for an official music video coming soon.

Louis The Child Drop New Single “Keep On Moving” with NEZ and Theophilus London [WATCH]

Last October, Louis The Child dropped their new beat tape, Candy II, featuring collaborations with Whethan and TroyBoi, among 17 other tracks. This week, the duo dropped a remix of “Keep Moving” from the release, dubbing it “Keep On Moving,” this time bringing NEZ and Theophilus London onto the track to keep it fresh.

Transforming the housey original, NEZ and London give the new cut a much heftier hip hop flavor with a significant amount more groove and a bit more subtle beat. It’s borne from the same original but certainly a new spin that fans should find easy to vibe with.

The track will be featured on their upcoming Euphoria Project, and you can likely hear more from it on their upcoming 30+ date amphitheater Euphoria Tour this summer. The tour will be also supported by Jai Wolf, K.Flay, The Knocks, Washed Out, What So Not, Whethan, Crooked Colours, Elderbrook, EVAN GIIA, Goth Babe, ilo ilo, MEMBA Slenderbodies, and Win & Woo. See all dates and tickets for the tour here.
