Wenzday Taps “Heartbreak House” Energy in “Outside” Music Video ft. Myke Terry [WATCH]

Wenzday’s recent single comes to life with a stunning visual representation of “Outside” featuring Myke Terry. The track previously released on Dr. Fresch’s House Call Records, unlocking the producer’s passion for rock and bass house fusion.

The “Outside” music video extends on what we already love about the track, serving as both a sonic and visual prelude to Wenzday’s breakout single “Heartbreak House.” When watched in order, her music videos tell the story of this universe and concept she has created for her project.

As mentioned, captivating storytelling is one of Wenzday’s many strong points. We see the emotion unfold here, especially around the 1:37 mark, as she engages in an explosive argument with Myke Terry, and striking choreography matches their energy.

Perhaps our favorite part doesn’t come until the very end. A tarot card is discovered on the ground — Three of Swords — representing pain inflicted by words, actions and intent.

“I am almost done telling this chapter of my story,” Wenzday shares, “and I am so grateful to Myke Terry for being my collaborator on this record, Hank Kowalczyk for her incredible choreography in the video, and my director Francesca Maldonado and editor Alex Hernandez — who I have worked with since day 1. This video is incredibly special to me and I hope you all enjoy it.”

In addition to directing, Maldonado has worked with Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Demi Lovato, and Machine Gun Kelly as a production designer.

A place where everyone is accepted and loved. A place where you can open your heart, let go of all problems, and rage harder than you ever have before. A place where emotion meets power. We are so grateful this idea is now reality, and we can’t wait to feel the love that will be generated at Starbase. Dubloadz Is Coming Back From Hiatus With a “Chill and Pretty” House Tune

In July last year, Dubloadz announced he was putting a stop to his artist project. I hesitate to say “quit” now, although that’s how we framed it in our initial coverage, because, for one, he never used that word specifically; he stated, “The truth is Dubloadz is like a band aid that I need to rip off at this point.” Two, he spoke about losing the happiness he once felt being part of the music industry.

“I feel physically sick to my stomach as I type this honestly but I can’t keep putting it off. Maybe one day I will find my happiness and something will rise from the ashes of all this. I can only ope, but I can’t promise.”

Well, from the ashes something will rise, as Dubloadz announced earlier this week that he’s reviving the project, although it won’t be for a dubstep release (though, there’s no ruling that out in the future). “I actually have a song coming out this month,” he writes. “It’s house though, and it’s chill and pretty. No headbanging sorry suckas.”

Honestly, we’re just happy that’s Dubloadz is in a place again where he feels comfortable releasing music. And for those who want to see him perform again, you’re not entirely out of luck, but you’re going to have to make a concession for a Houseloadz set in LA. As if that’s such a compromise. /s

Keep an eye out for new Dubloadz music before the month is out.

Just gonna throw this out there for the universe. I’m not taking bookings as of now, but I would make an exception if anyone wants to take the wheel on booking the first LA houseloadz set.

Roblox Announces Partnership with Sony Music, Bringing Artists Into the Metaverse

Roblox has partnered up with Sony Music Entertainment as a means to streamline music across the global platform. The new collaboration aims to bring recording artists into the Roblox metaverse, which is particularly popular among young users.

Under the agreement, “Roblox and Sony Music will work together to develop innovative music experiences for the Roblox community that offer a range of new commercial opportunities for Sony Music artists to reach new audiences and generate new revenue streams around virtual entertainment.”

Just last month, Roblox was hit with a $200 million lawsuit for allegedly streaming copyrighted music without permission or payout. The National Music Publishers’ Association filed on behalf of several labels including Universal Music Publishing, Big Machine Records, Concord Music Group, Downtown Music Publishing and Kobalt Music Group.

Despite the legal trouble, Roblox aims to provide the “opportunity for the new generation of music fans to discover, share, and get closer to music and artists they love.” For artists and labels, Roblox offers “unique and creative way to engage and attract millions of fans.”

Jon Vlassopulos, Vice President and Global Head of Music at Roblox states:

Sony Music has been a fantastic partner and I am pleased to deepen and lengthen our relationship. They truly understand the massive opportunity that the metaverse presents for their artists and we are committed to helping them unlock new creative and commercial opportunities on Roblox,” said Jon Vlassopulos, Vice President and Global Head of Music, Roblox. “We are just scratching the surface of what Roblox can deliver to the music industry and to music fans around the world.

Previously, the two companies worked together on Lil Nas X’s hit virtual and viral Roblox performance in November 2020. Also, more recently, the Zara Larsson Launch Party on Roblox in May 2021.

Last year, Roblox teamed up with Monstercat in a similar effort to circulate electronic music across the platform. At the time, the platform reported 150 million active monthly users — and now, it’s more like 199 million.

Deadmau5 & Lights Tease Follow Up Collab To “Drama Free” Coming Next Week

Deadmau5 and Lights first teamed up on “Drama Free,” dropping on mau5ville: Level 2 all the way back in 2018. Though it was only 3 years ago, given the events of the past 16 months or so, it seems like an eternity.

Worry not, however, because the dynamic duo are returning with a brand new collaboration, “When The Summer Dies,” out next week, July 16. The mau5trap don posted an agonizingly short snippet of the track on social media; Lights vocals aren’t anywhere to be found (yet) but the beat definitely seems more catered to the dancefloor than their previous team up.

Don Diablo announces involvement in theatre production ‘Forever Young’

Don Diablo isn’t done with the main stage, but he is turning his attention to another stage, one with perhaps a bit more direction. Claiming the director of music role, Don Diablo will have an integral role in the new theater production ‘Forever Young,’ an interactive and high-tech theatre experience making its debut in 2022.

According to a press release, “the audience will experience the intense love story of superstar Liam Nova and his talented childhood sweetheart Julia, as they grapple with the darker side of fame and the impact of social media.” The theme of mental health will play a huge part in the storytelling as Nova becomes increasingly isolated not only from others but also from himself.

“The story of Forever Young is very close to my heart,” says Don. “As an artist I’ve had years of experience with the lighter and darker sides of the modern age. We now live in a time where everything seems possible, but these endless possibilities also come with the price of constant pressure. The digital revolution offers plenty of opportunities, but also an equal amount of challenges. Mental health is an important theme and something we all need to continue to work on. Together. Forever Young is a next-generation love story presented in a one-of-its-kind futuristic theatre show. Our aim is not only to appeal to the audience’s mind but also to hit them in that special place in their heart.”

In November, Fourmation Entertainment will stage the first previews of this spectacular theatre production at a secret location in Amsterdam. People can register for the exclusive presale on the website www.foreveryoungtheshow.com. Only a limited number of tickets will be available – the general public will be able to see Forever Young in 2022.

Wodd Releases Debut EP On Kannibalen, “4th Dimension”

After releasing multiple singles, WODD is dropping his highly anticipated EP, 4th Dimension, on Kannibalen Records. The five track project showcases the evolution of WODD’s iconic sound that defies genre tropes and blends differing styles for an adventurous sci-fi ride.

Within the EDM community, techno and bass are often seen as opposite ends of the spectrum. Techno emphasizes a constant four-on-the-floor beat and an often minimalist aesthetic, focused on the vibe of the room, the lights, the bass, etc., while dubstep typically operates, at least nowadays, outside a strict set of rules apart from heavy bass and a 140-150 bpm.

So, all that being laid out, if I told you that someone had melded the two, your first reaction would likely be one of disbelief. However, 4th Dimension does a phenomenal job of bridging the two — not always equally, mind you. Kannibalen fans will still find plenty of dirty bass to feast upon, while the techno heads might find this as a bit of a gateway into the heavier styles of dance music.

Either way, the creativity and quality are beyond question. Check out the new EP from WODD below!
