Calvin Harris Previews Boppy Summer Anthem Out Soon, “By Your Side” [WATCH]

Calvin Harris has a ripe summer hit on his hands, a collaborative dance anthem with British singer/songwriter Tom Grennan.

The producer readies fans for his first new music of 2021 and shares an official audio preview of “By Your Side” via the announcement video below, complete with floral visuals and a bright demeanor. An additional preview, which focuses on the lyrical performance, is available to watch via YouTube here.

In 2020, Harris teamed up with The Weeknd on “Over Now,” and also introduced his Love Regenerator alter ego. He dropped a wave of powerful house and techno-inspired tracks under the alias including “Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)” and “CP-1” followed by “The Power of Love II,” “Regenerate Love,” “Give Me Strength,” “Peace Love Happiness” and more.

This quote from Harris has stuck with us and still rings true:

I am now solely in the business, and have been for the last four years, of making music to make me feel good in the hope that it makes other people feel as good, or even just a little bit as good and improves their day.

“By Your Side” is yet another change of pace from one of dance music’s finest. Listen here!

Apple Music Announces Lossless Audio at No Extra Cost

Starting in June, Apple Music will support spatial audio, also known as lossless audio.

This industry-leading audio format will be available to Apple Music subscribers at no extra cost. At launch only mere thousands of songs will be available in lossless format, however, as it will take time for Apple to convert their catalog of 75 million tracks to FLAC format.

For those who have never heard of lossless audio until this week, lossless audio is an audio file in its purest form, the way the band recorded the song in the studio, or the way your favorite producer created it in a digital audio workspace. Listening to lossless audio is essentially listening to the master file of a song. Pretty sweet, right?

Rather than an MP3 or .WAV file, lossless audio is saved in FLAC format. Apple Music will support lossless audio files up to 24 bits.

In addition, Apple Music will offer support for Dolby Atmos, “an immersive audio experience that enables artists to mix music so the sound comes from all around and from above.”

To start listening to Lossless Audio, subscribers using the latest version of Apple Music can turn it on in Settings > Music > Audio Quality.

The introduction of lossless audio does have some limitations. iTunes music cannot be purchased in lossless format. Already-purchased iTunes tracks cannot be upgraded to lossless audio quality, either. But the move is a step toward a new soundscape in streaming and hopefully, other leading streaming services will follow suit.

We can’t wait to get our immersive listening on — let us know in the comments what song you are most excited to listen to in lossless format!

Moore Kismet Drops The Latest Single From Their Album, “Flourish” with laxcity [LISTEN]

Bass music prodigy Moore Kismet never ceases to impress with their forward-thinking style, and the project’s latest release is a team up with laxcity boasting a wave of feel-good energy and boundless creativity.

Glitchy and lush sounds rule the production, which is a divine playground of emotion and thoughtful sound design. The largely instrumental track is backed by light vocal chops, layers of synths to fill the atmosphere, and two drastically different drops of unique formations.

Moore Kismet shares of the release:

Josh (laxcity) and I have been close friends for almost 3 years, and one thing I’ve always loved about his music even before we met was his innate ability to create such beautiful tracks that withheld such striking atmospherics and melodies that stuck with you. with “Flourish,” we wanted to collaboratively expand on that and take you to a completely different side of our production styles. we want to show the everlasting growth of our friendship and artistry.

And recently speaking on their forthcoming album:

…every song on this album truly is such a beautiful representation of how much I’ve grown as an artist and as a person.

The single follows up “Autonomy,” “Vendetta for Cupid,” and “Rumor,” all of which are expected on the producer’s highly anticipated debut.

Listen to “Flourish” here and let your ears thank you for its beautiful intention.

Marshmello Drops New Song With Jonas Brothers, “Leave Before You Love Me”

Marshmello continues his run of collaborations with worldwide megastars, this time teaming up with Jonas Brothers for a soft pop ballad called, “Leave Before You Love Me.”

If you’re wondering what type of vibe you’re getting before you hit play, it’s a lot like Post Malone’s “Circles.” A lot of soft guitar notes, boy-band vocals, pop drum rhythms, and such. It’s very much a pop song, and not an EDM one, simply with a Marshmello collaboration attached. Though, if his name wasn’t on it, you’d guess this was a Jonas Brothers solo track.

Check it out below.
